State Roofing Company, along with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) support the Roofing Registration Bill that is currently under consideration in Austin. The Texas Senate Business and Commerce Committee will be discussing SB 1274 in the coming weeks. Contact your Senator to let them know that you support the bill.
The Bill will register Roofing Contractors who demonstrate their honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity and require proof of general liability insurance. The Bill will prohibit ‘fly by night’ operators and out-of-state companies that are often the problem with sub-standard roof installations which carry no warranty. Eliminating fraudulent or deceptive practices in the roofing industry is a priority of the proposed legislation.
